Denny Draper Memorial Stick League:
We curl at 1pm, followed by social time & euchre for those who wish. Stick rules - two people on a team, delivery by stick, no sweeping between hog lines, 6 end game
or....just come to play cards!
We play at 7pm on Tuesday nights during the curling season. Open to any combination of female/male players. Team entries are welcome, or sign up as an individual and we will put you on a team. This league will have only one draw that will run through the entire season, culminating with the playoffs in March.....Hurry Hard!
We play at 1pm every Wednesday afternoon from November through March. We have newbie curlers as well as those who have been curling for decades.
We follow up our game with a snack (okay, so we eat lunch twice that day) provided by each team in rotation. We begin and end our season with a potluck lunch.
We throw a great Christmas party. Our annual Ladies Bonspiel is renowned for it's amazing food. Have we mentioned food yet?
Youth League is cancelled for the 1st half of the season. A decision about the 2nd half will be made in December. Youth league is scheduled for Wednesdays from 4-5:30pm.
We play at 7pm every Wednesday evening November through March. We are manly men who sweep. We are proud of the fact that we do more to support the club's bar than any other league.
John & Pamela Langley Memorial Retirees' League:
We play at 1pm every Thursday afternoon from November through March. We play 6 ends rather than the traditional 8 so that we have more time to socialize! We welcome brand new as well as experienced curlers. Many of us took up the sport late in life. Some of us prefer to use a stick to deliver the rock, a great way to keep the game accessible to all of us. We follow up our game with a snack provided by each team in rotation.
This league plays at 7pm on Thursdays,. This format will follow the rules for doubles curling (“as seen on TV”), but players can be any combination of male or female.
If you don't want to curl but would still like to be a member of the Club, you can join as a social member.
We have been able to maintain our league fees for the last couple of curling seasons without an increase due to successful fundraising activities. And generous donations from members for last year really helped us to keep the lights on when fundraising was not possible. As we have been limited in the amount of fundraising events we could hold this year, we have had to introduce a modest increase to the league fees .
We pride ourselves on being affordable. In addition to league fees, all members agree to complete 12 volunteer hours or equivalent to help keep the club fees affordable. Note: Snowbirds, 1/2 season rates are available
This is a special rate for new members to the Marmora & Area Curling Club; Unlimited Leagues for a full year.
Members and Non-Members can spare in any adult league as long as they are not assigned to regularly spare for a specific team. Fees listed are per occurance.
Rate increases to $15 per sparing opportunity (after the first 4 times)
All rates include HST.
