Members must wear a mask at all times while entering the MACC and at all times while moving around the facility and when not seated.
Maintain physical distancing as laid out by the Ministry of Health for anyone entering the MACC.
Follow the MACC COVID-19 Precautions for On-Ice Activities.
Read and comply with the COVID-19 screening questions.
Sign-in before each event on attendance sheets (which are saved for contact tracing purposes).
Assist with the Cleaning Regimen of high touch surfaces, objects and Club Equipment (grippers, sliders, stabilizers, broom cleaning brushes, brooms and delivery devices) after each game.
Support hand hygiene (i.e., hand washing, hand sanitizing) and cough/sneeze etiquette.
Precautions for On-Ice Activities for Members:
Traffic flow - access to and from the ice: Enter the ice using West door, while maintaining social distancing & wearing a mask, starting with the teams on sheet 4 then sheet 3 then sheet 2 and finally teams for sheet 1. This would allow for easy social distancing and limit the bottleneck that often occurs at the beginning of league play. Exit the ice using the West door while maintaining social distancing.
No handshakes before or after the game; use a wave or broom tap instead.
For normal 4 person games, 2 rocks are assigned to each curler, no one else touches those rocks during the game; the lead is assigned rock #1 & #2, the second is assigned rock #3 & #4, the vice is assigned rock #5 & #6, and the skip who is assigned rock #7 & #8.
For stick curling games, the rocks will be handled with gloved hands only.
After each end, one member from each team will push the rocks back using their feet and/or brooms only. The order/position of the rocks is not important as long as each player uses the same 2 rocks during the game.
Assign one individual to handle all scoring, using a gloved hand.
If a measure is needed, then one person will remove their gloves, sanitize their hands with the hand sanitizer located near the measuring device, retrieve the measuring device, perform the measurement, put the measuring device back, and then sanitize their hands again.
Club Equipment - If a broom or delivery device is used, it will be placed in the “used” bin at the end of the game, so that it can be cleaned and sanitized prior to the next draw.
Club members are encouraged to provide their own grippers, sliders, stabilizers and broom cleaning brushes. If a club slider or stabilizer is used, it is placed in a “used” bin for cleaning and sanitizing prior to the next draw.
Maintain 6 feet of physical distancing wherever possible; masks are optional when on the ice surface. Players on the sidelines will be on the west sideline of the sheet (e.g.: for sheet 1, this will be along the west wall, for sheet 4 this will be along the line separating sheets 3 & 4).
Ice Maintenance & Cleaning during the curling season:
Prior to each draw:
Wipe down all rock handles with disinfecting wipes.
Wipe down scoreboard number placards with disinfecting wipes.
Wipe down door handles around the ice surface with disinfecting wipes.
Ensure adequate supply of hand sanitizer, Kleenex, disinfecting wipes available at designated locations around the ice surface.
